Fred A.'s Story
Life:
FRED A. VANDEVANDER: Vice President (EnviroPure Industries Inc,)
Fred graduated from High School in 1971 and enlisted in the United States Army in July of 1972 as a fire control operator (16C20) computer operator for a Nike Hercules Nuclear Missile base. 2nd Battalion 52 Air Defense Artillery (RADCOM). After leaving the active military Fred enlisted in the Active Reserves from 1975 to 1977. He also worked at Fort Benjamin Harrison Centralized Pay Operations, Control & Conversion Division Building #1. In 1975, he went to work at Ideal Engineering as an apprentice Tool & Die Maker and also attended school four nights a week. Two years later, he moved to a new position at Ransburg Corporation and then went to Dependable Tool & Die, and then finishing his schooling & apprenticeship at Speedway Machine and Tool. In 1979 he used his education to move as a Tool & Die Maker & Engineer to work for Allison Gas Turbine Research And Development, where he worked for four years at Plant 8, until G.M. decided to split up the Divisions in 1984. endous expertise in engineering, and moved to Plant #3 of Allison Transmission where he has spent the last twelve years as a Tool & Die Maker in the tool room. The last three of those years Fred has spent in the Engineering Test Department called ¿The Model Shop¿ (Retired July 1, 2009 Allison Transmission Inc. Fred was the owner of Rent-A-Cruiser from 1988 to 1990 where he rented 26ft Cruisers and up. He was President of VanTech C.C.C. L.L.C. 1998 to 2000; a reseller for Gibbs-Cam Industrial soft ware. He is an owner of VanTech L.L.C. 2000 to 2009, producing Van Sonic Custom Speakers for musicians. He has been Vice President of EnviroPure Industries Inc. from 2003 to the present where we manufacture Industrial air scrubbers for automotive, diesel and industry smoke stacks. He has also been joint owner with his son Justin of Sacred Ink Tattooing and Body Piercing till 2009. Fred has been married for the past 36 years and has two grown children and two grandchildren and enjoys playing bass guitar in the OverLoad Band on the weekends till 2007. Now is enjoying his retirement from Allison¿s, Tending His Japanese Koi fishpond.
